The weight of his paw and the bite of his claws made Kee squeak quietly, jerking slightly and laughing on reflex. "Be nice," She protested playfully, taking his paw in both of her hands. It was heavy, of course, especially for someone of her stature, but she could at least get her hand beneath it to tickle the pads. Despite being playful, her tone was a bit more solemn. "Take it slowly. Things won't be easy for a while, you know. I mean, they never really were, but this is going to be a new type of struggle for you, I think. Don't overwhelm yourself. Start small. This is a real place. You're here, and I'm here. Most importantly, this is pure land. Untainted. You can drink the water and the ground doesn't feel so... wrong."
Of course, it may never have felt wrong to him to begin with. That much was hard to relate when she was a native to Eternia. Her fur was short to tolerate the sun and the warmth, and her coloring was made to blend in easily in a forest setting. "We might be on this side for a long time. Mystic gave me a sign, and... you're tied to it. We can find out why together, we just have to go easily."

The beast jerked his paw back, not fond of the tickling sensation and stared up at his companion with big blues eyes, ''That is what I do not understand, why me? I cannot think of why the Creator would have a use for me.'' Slowly and steadily he began to sit up, it hurt but it was manageable at least. ''I've never been of interest to anyone but those with coin and my master, and well... the spiders though I am less fond of being an interest to them.'' Tyarnach chuckled lightly before clearing his throat. ''I feel homesick already.''

Kee reached out as he sat up and placed her hand on top of his head. "I don't know what his purpose is for you, but don't underestimate yourself, hm? And..." She hesitated and withdrew her hand, out of a small fear that what she said next might upset him. It was hard to tell, even if he did seem to trust her more now, how he'd react. "There are some things I speculate about you. I'm still putting pieces together, so I don't have proof or anything solid. The problem is, I'm afraid to tell you all at once. The goddess said to be careful about it, to be wary of overwhelming you." Her lips curled in a tentative half-smile. "I do want to tell you though. I don't want to keep secrets, I'm not Cyburn. B-But I have to be careful," She repeated and tugged the tip of one of her long ears. "Sorry. You know, Baylon said I have common sense, but I still feel lost on how to go about any of this. How am I supposed to let you know what's going on without it being overwhelming?"

Her withdrawal made him move his head away and the look in his eyes was something of mistrust, unsure what she was getting at, and in a way it flared his temper. ''I am quite often the spotlight of speculation. I will tell you now that I do not appreciate it. It feels violating, like I'm some kind of subject for people to gawk at.''

"You know that isn't what I'm trying to do," She replied gently, meeting his gaze as if she hoped he could see the sincerity written in her features. "Something has made you especially important to the Creator, and he's expressed it, I think, through me. I'm not looking to gawk at you, Tyarnach, I'm looking to help you." She was torn between her reluctance to keep a secret and her fear of Baylon's warnings, and pulled the tips of her ears down as the anxiety worked at her. "You're my friend. I think you're my friend, anyway. So when a goddess tells me that unloading too much information on you at once would be damaging, I heed her advice, because I don't want to do anything that's bad for you. It would just be nice if she were here to counsel me on how much is safe to reveal at once."

''How much?'' He barked, ''Well boy, you've basically told me that it might overload me!'' Sincere as she might have been it was still aggravating to know that he was 'different' in some way, he hated it, fate, destiny....all Tyarnach wanted to do was live his life in bliss, following simple orders did not make life a hassle, it was easier that way and now he was involved with a stranger he had only met a week ago and the god of Creation had plans for him? He was not happy.
''I told you before we are not friends, deer, I simply repaid you for saving my life. Tyarnach does not have friends. By the God you have caused me more trouble than my weight in gold. You might as well unload all of your speculation know so that this can be over and done with.'' It seemed as if the Goddess' advice was ignored by Kee's beastish friend.

Many things he said and the tone he said them in might have hurt her, but it was being told she was not his friend, even now, after what she had done, that dealt the blow. Like any deer, she was swift on her feet, shooting up and changing shape even as she began to run away from him to hide her pain, only a tearful whimper escaping before she had changed beyond the capacity for crying sounds. Frustrated and overwhelmed herself by the constant feeling of uncertainty and loneliness even now, she took off with bounding leaps into the trees.

Kee's attempt to flee would be met with a warning from the creator, she would feel her head pulse with pain as a strange force simply turned her around, back in the direction of where she had left Tyarnach. Clearly Mystic did not care for their personal disputes and perhaps it was time for the youngest spirit to mature and complete her task with some kind of dignity and pride, whether Tyarnach liked her or not.
Back at the shrine Tyarnach had gotten to rolling his eyes and muttering under his breath, she was volatile, more so than he was. What a baby to get upset over such worthless bonds. If she had been raised in the Citadel she'd never get upset or run away over stupid shit such as that. ''Eternians.'' He groaned, they were too soft.

She wanted very desperately to run, even when it wasn't in her to defy her Creator. He turned her, but she planted her hooves and lowered her ears, her short tail down. It seemed either way she could not win - and in her emotional state she bleated at the Creator too, "How am I supposed to do what you want if nobody's interested in telling me how I'm to accomplish these things?! You put me on this mysterious task to begin with! I can't do your bidding when nobody wants to give me anything but cryptic messages and tell me how I'm doing it wrong!" It may not have been wise to yell at the god, but even if she wasn't crying physically, her emotions were in turmoil.
Never had she thought she could want so very much to be a child again, so that at least her feelings might be tended by her loving mother rather than met with interfering gods and angry former elves. "I want to do what you ask, but I need more to go on than a bunch of information that I can't even tell him without risk of making everything worse!"

The brightness of the forest soon turned dark and windy as if a terrible storm was about to sweep through the trees, their dried leaves swept from the ground and in a matter of seconds Kee would find her world shrouded in darkness for what might have seemed like forever. But two glowing red eyes eventually pierced through the darkness, the orbs narrowed on her and a thundering voice crackled from all around her. ''Watch your tongue!'' It growled, ''I spent more than my fair share of life energy helping you already! You seek guidance like a wisp, you are no longer a child, Spirit of Nature. On the day you grew those antlers to their full extent you were given all control over who you are and what you can do. You hold within you the power from myself, Mystic, All-Maker and Creator. And yet you do not know how to use it, still!''
Yelling at the god was perhaps not the wisest idea, especially when she had disappointed him. ''Everything I know, everything I think is locked away deep inside you. Instead you choose to seek shelter beneath your elders, no more! My 'cryptic' messages are flashes that you will come to understand, if I told you to go to a certain location and preform a certain deed I would be no better than that disgusting human who attempted to tap into my power. I am too weak and tired to explain everything, especially when I do not control the tides of fate.'' The voice was only ever heard by three creatures that presently lived today those being Kee, Baylon and Vee-Vee, but a conversation with the god of creation was not always pleasant. ''Baylon gave you the name of the one to talk to, one that could point you in the right direction. He lives within this forest in a prison of brambles. He could be considered one of the wisest in my world, with knowledge that surpasses even the most intelligent creatures, there are plenty who offer guidance to what you seek, my task was not destined for the two of you alone and as for what to tell the elf without making things worse, might I recommend you tell him what he needs to know. If you do not take risks and if you are always afraid, you will not last long on this journey.''

Like a child, she had thrown a fit, and like a child, she was chastised. Kee knew that more was expected of her, which made the knowledge of her current list of failures all the more painful. Her desperation for approval did not make it any easier to accept that she had now added the god to whom she was utterly devoted on her list of persons upset. "How can I not be afraid?" She practically whimpered to the powerful voice, like a child beseeching a parent. "If I fail you, if I take the wrong risk and things go utterly wrong, then I place you at risk or deprive you of power should I perish. Baylon said it herself, doing things my own way almost got me stuck with Cyburn with my power at his disposal. How am I supposed to be less afraid when I know if I fail you, it's not just my own life or well-being that's lost."
She was trembling by the time she finished speaking. "I'm an adult but this isn't something I was prepared for. I don't want to fail you."

The voice had calmed somewhat slightly though it did not offer comfort, that wasn't something he was going to do when yet again he was draining what had taken him years to obtain, though if Kee succeeded in her task, then the burst of life and strength he would receive greatly outweighed what he had spent on 'helping' her. ''Your risk to surrender yourself was a foolish mistake, and not the kind of risk I want to see you take. You saw my visions and you knew of the dangers that the Citadel posed. But you should have considered alternatives. If you believed that saving that slave was of priority and was urgent then you should have sought help from locals. You have the power within you, you formed an alliance with the Trap Spiders, instead you willingly throw yourself into a situation where the risk was far greater than the possibility of reward. Had Baylon been caught up in her own affairs, we would not be having this conversation.''
''You do not need to play hero, you understand that your ability in combat is not as strong as others but you have the blessing of being able to befriend anything with a little give and take. If it takes you longer than need be, that is fine, the time is not what fails me as I regain strength over it, but hasty decisions and foolish attempts at heroism will do more harm than good. Baylon did not attempt to defeat Scale on her own in a matter of weeks upon knowing of her destiny, it took her years. Have patience.''

"Y-Yes," She gulped out the words as she tried to steady herself, using some of those reminders to bolster herself. She was a Spirit, powerful in her own right. It did not make the thought of failure less terrifying, but she would have to learn to remind herself of that fact. "I'm sorry," Her voice was a timid whisper, though she had no reason to believe Mystic couldn't hear her. "I'll try to do better. I will. Please forgive me."

''Only your actions will decide if I forgive you.'' There was no closure from the stern voice who spoke no more as the world returned to normal, where the spirit would find herself down in the leaves as she awoke from her ordeal. No sign of Mystics presence had disturbed the wildlife as squirrels seemed content in their hollows and a large boa slithered by through the thicket. Though one animal stood out among them all, it was Tyarnach, who frowned down at her. He said nothing but seemed as if to have been concerned for the reason she was unconscious in the middle of the forest.

It wasn't warm or loving reassurance, but given all that had happened, it was better than more yelling. Kee stirred slowly, waking up feeling more exhausted than she had when she tried to run away. Meeting Tyarnach's gaze, her ears flicked forward and back, afraid he might start yelling again once he realized she was awake. "I'll tell you what you need to know," She said quietly, if not in the friendliest of tones.
