"You needn't worry about prey suffering, I do not enjoy killing for sport the way my master does. Snapping the neck does a quick and relatively painless job at killing smaller prey, like rabbits and rodents, now I just have to remember how to hunt." The beast stated before scratching his side and back on the grass, letting out a series of pleasent growls at the relieving feeling.

"I would offer to help, but it wouldn't be fair," Kee remarked quietly. "It's too easy to lure animals in for me, it'd feel like trickery." Watching him writhe around brought back the smile, however, and she muffled a faint giggle. "Do you need help? If you're that itchy, I could scratch you. Or do you just enjoy the feeling of living grass?"

''I've never felt it before, it feels so strange under my paws and it smells amazing.'' He huffed happily, looking back at her in his upside down state. ''I do really like it, it's so very different from home, so much more... natural. I bet the meat tastes better too.''

"This is what I was trying to do in the forest, you know. What I hope to return to doing, when I've learned what I'm supposed to. What you're enjoying is the land in its proper state - living, growing, not tainted by darkness. I suppose the meat would taste better. The animals are fatter, well fed, and they don't suffer dwindling populations because of too many predators. Life works in natural cycles, but even during the low seasons, it's never as bad as it would be over there." Kee stretched herself out and finally let her eyes close, letting out a content sigh.
"There's a place where I used to play, not far from where I was born. It was a valley covered in flowers of all sorts, and in the highest point of the day when the sun was shining the brightest, you could smell the sweet scent long before you saw it. It even had a pond where we would play. I don't see how anybody could want the world to remain corrupted, when the land is so beautiful when it's pure. It doesn't," She stopped to yawn and turned her head to the side before finishing, "Make any sense."

The yawn was infectious and soon Tyarn had found himself resting his head on his paws and closing his eyes. ''I suppose people in the citadel hate change, I know from experience. There may not be any physical corruption but their hearts are tainted, even others who are much like myself are filled with spite and despise for the outside world, no matter how bad they're treated, when I was younger, I remember one of master's acquaintances kept a slave, maybe thirty years old, he was nearly as cruel as the man who held his chain when no one was around.''

"I suppose change can be frightening. When you grow accustomed to one way of life, it's hard to accept another. There's also a human element to it, I think. They, most of all, can be very mercurial. If you pair that with a bad environment and give no rights to chunks of the population, it becomes volatile." She tried to mask a second yawn and failed, laughing sleepily. "Well, I won't let you become like that if I can help it. I'll just have to show you the best parts of Eternia. After sleep."
Reaching out, Kee gave Tyarnach's head a lazy pat and curled into a ball, signaling the end of conversation and the beginning of nap time as she allowed herself to drift. After the harrowing experience across the sea, she was more than happy to sleep without fretting about waking up to some new form of danger.

"Rest well, spirit." Tyarnach muttered as he tucked himself into a ball of his own. He was at peace here, the forest seemed to be a world away from Cyburn and its tranquil energy made it easy for him to rest and relax, his mind finally cleared of cluttered thoughts.

Sleep was not entirely peaceful for Kee. Although she had expected to be without nightmares now that she finally back in Eternia, she was instead plagued by memories of Cyburn's lab and the suppressing images of the manor. It was still the darkest part of the day when she woke with a panicked gasp and sat upright, shaking in a cold sweat. Not wanting to wake Tyarnach, she took her time in quietly getting up and shifting her hooves through the leafs in an effort to not crunch loudly through them.
Rubbing her eyes and stifling a yawn, she sniffed the air before heading off into the trees in search of water.

Despite the beast's hearing, Tyarnach was in a deep sleep, probably the first in a very very long time, defying his own instincts to be alert to any sounds. Though while Kee had wondered off into the strange forest and some length away from the shrine, she would have found the small pool of water that she had desired, but it was in a rather suspicious looking place.
A few feet from the small pond was a burnt out campfire that looked as if it hadn't been ignited for quite some time and further behind that was a cave, made from large rectangular slabs of stone.

There was certainly some sort of logic that told her what she was seeing might not be wise to investigate. Kee's long ears swiveled and twitched, picking up nearby sounds as she stared at the burnt out fire. Her nose wrinkled as she sniffed the air for some trace of predator. The wise thing would have been to at least go wake up Tyarnach if she meant to explore... but he needed rest, and she was feeling rather determined to do something successfully on her own after all that had taken place.
With cautious steps she moved to the entrance of the irregular cave and poked her head just barely inside, peering into the dark and whispering, "Hello? Is someone there?"

Her voice echoed as the cave turned out to be a tunnel whose end was not exactly in view, though towards the back thick brambles protruded from the dirt, something akin to what Mystic had mentioned.
Alas there was no reply, perhaps the interesting formation was vacant.

Kee stared into the tunnel as her mind flew through the options. She was rather curious to see where things led, especially given the fact it might have been her intended destination. Common sense, however, seemed to win out. With a note of reluctance she turned away from the cave and bounded off in the direction she had left Tyarnach, shifting shape for the sake of speed and thus nearly tripping over him as she arrived back at the shrine.
"Tyarnach!" Perhaps it wasn't the politest thing, to wake the poor blue beast who doubtlessly deserved rest, but she dug her cold nose against his ear and nudged him in an effort to get him up.

He woke to the shout and immediately jumped to his feet. "What is it?" He asked, already alert as if his sleep hadn't just been interrupted by thundering hooves, a shout and an invasive nose in his ear.
Though much to his disappointment his instinctively bristled fur was forced to de-fluff itself at the lack of immediate danger. "You know, I was having a wonderful dream, first time I've slept soundly in my whole life, but then you rip me away from it. This better be good, deer."

"I'll make it up to you somehow, I promise," Kee huffed, even trying to soothe him and wake him by licking his mane, though after the second time a tiny burst of static shocked her tongue, she learned her lesson and stopped. The faces of pain from having her mouth zapped were not often seen in the average deer. "You'll have more nights of sound sleep." Her short little tail waggled a bit, practically buzzing with anxious curiosity. She turned and ran off towards the forest, back in the direction of the cave, only stopping to check that he was indeed following her.

Why she licked him, he would never know but at her urgency to prance off into the forest without explanation hadn't exactly given much choice but to curl back up or to follow her, and he decided that well, the sun was up and therefore he should probably get stuck into the days tasks. As it was no doubt going to be a busy one.
leaves crunched under his heavy paws as he pursued her, catching up somewhat quickly despite still injured bones and his weight.
